Aqua Terra Silva
At the crossroads of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park and the Cévennes National Park, Aqua Terra Silva is a sustainable living place in progress.
Organised around a large 17th-century stone building comprising four holiday accommodations, the terraces are home to aromatic gardens, an agro-ecological vegetable garden and a few beehives. By renovating the building and enhancing the terraces with ecological techniques, we want to offer our guests a place where they can reconnect with the cycles of life.
Authentic holiday accommodations on the banks of the Chassezac
As a couple, a family or with friends, you will stay in a magnificent sandstone building perched in the middle of wooded grounds bordered by a small stream that becomes a waterfall when it rains.
Our lodgings can accommodate from 1 to 4 people, and each has its own garden furniture in the large common courtyard. Two are currently open for booking.
Just 260 m as the crow flies from the Chassezac and 2.5 km from Les Vans, you will enjoy the peace of the countryside, the places to swim in the river, and the many activities in Les Vans and other nearby villages.
Permaculture gardens
As you walk on our one-hectare land in “faïsses”, you will discover our aromatic terraces: mint, lemon balm, monarda, thyme, rosemary, savory… so many scents to awaken your senses!
In the vegetable garden, you will see various vegetables growing together with herbs and seasonal flowers. We cultivate these areas in accordance with the characteristics of the place, promoting diversity and using local renewable resources. Your kitchen waste, for instance, will be used to produce an excellent organic amendment for the soil.
Depending on the season, you will have the opportunity to taste our vegetables, herbal teas and aromatic blends.

We are 5 km from Les Vans, 8 minutes by car. Whether you arrive via Les Vans or Villefort, take the small road that goes down opposite the Pradal campsite and turn right just before the first bridge. You will then be on “route de Chambonas”. The house is at number 886 on the right. The place is well geolocated on Google Maps. You can park in the parking spaces on the roadside below the building.

The nearest train station is Génolhac, 36 km away. It is served by the TER Nîmes / Clermont Ferrand. Alès station, 47 km away, is also on the TER Nîmes / Clermont Ferrand line.The nearest TGV station is Montélimar, 75 km away, followed by Valence, 119 km away.

The roads, landscapes and weather of the Cévennes d'Ardèche lend themselves particularly well to cycling. We are 17 km from Saint-Paul-le-Jeune, which is on the Via Ardèche, a 53 km cycle path linking Vallon-Pont-d'Arc to Gagnières. If you come by bike, you can park it in our garage.

You will find plenty of hiking trails around the place. The GR®4 from the Atlantic to Provence passes less than 1 km from us. The starting (or finishing) point of the GR®44 from Les Vans (Ardèche) to Champerboux (Lozère) and the GR®44B from Les Vans (Ardèche) to the Montagne de la Vieille Morte (Lozère) can be reached on foot in 30 minutes (3 km) via a signposted path that passes behind the house. The GR de Pays Le Cévenol from La Bastide-Puylaurent (Lozère) to Génolhac (Gard) also passes through the centre of Les Vans.

You can park your vehicle in our parking spaces on the roadside below the building.

You will find everything you need within a few kilometres from the house in Gravières, Les Vans or Chambonas.
In Gravières, you can buy your vegetables at the la Ferme des Voisins, only 2 km from the house, every Monday and Friday morning from mid-April to the end of November.
At the P’tit marché de Chambonas, every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. from April 13 to All Saints' Day, you will find good bread, fruits, vegetables, meat, honey, beer, wine and many other local and/or organic and artisanal products. You can also eat on site in a warm and often lively atmosphere.
Right in the center of Les Vans, the Saturday morning market is the place to go for local and seasonal products. You will also find many local shops, craft shops, clothing stores, bookstores, etc.
In the Chambonas shopping area, you will find the very pleasant Biocoop Les P'tits LouBio, a supermarket Super U, a petrol station and other specialist shops.
In Les Vans shopping area, you will find another supermarket Carrefour Market, a petrol station and other specialist shops.

Many bathing places are quickly accessible on foot, by bike or by car from the house. The closest, at the end of Chemin de la Chargeadoire, is accessible in 10 minutes on foot by a marked path from the house.
If you continue along this path for another 5-10 minutes on foot, you will arrive at La Pontière, great swimming spot for young and old alike.
Leaving the house on the right, you reach the Nassier bridge by the small Verlegas road in 20 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bike (less than 2 km).
5 km away, cycle or car ride will take you to Les Eynès, another pleasant swimming spot below the “Gorges du Chassezac” campsite.
Finally, the beaches on both sides of the Pont de Mazet, in the gorges between the Bois de Païolive and the Casteljau peninsula, are 12 km away by bike or by car.

Our lodgings are equipped to allow you to enjoy your holidays in peace. To simplify your preparations, we offer sheets and towels for hire. If you don’t want this option, you will need to bring your own.
We always provide a kitchen towel, a dish sponge, ecological dishwashing liquid, salt, pepper, a little olive oil, cider vinegar, pasta, coffee and filters, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo and shower gel as well as cleaning equipment and products. You will find the list of services and equipment of our lodgings here.
On your arrival, we will ask you for a deposit cheque which will be returned to you at the end of your stay. So please bring your chequebook with you.

To make your departure easier, we offer an end-of-stay cleaning option at the rate of 60€ (kitchen area not included). If you do not take this option, you must return the lodge clean before 11:00 a.m. at the latest. Cleaning equipment and products will be made available to you.

Smoking is not permitted in the lodgings and on the green spaces of the place. You can smoke in the common courtyard. An ashtray can be made available to you. It is your responsibility to empty it regularly and to put the cigarette ends in the household waste bin.

The common courtyard is surrounded by stone walls and 3 large gates, which can be closed. We generally leave them open during the day when the lodgings are occupied. To encourage walks and observation of the landscape, the terraced grounds are not fenced. We therefore ask you to watch over your children when they walk there.
